Reno, NV cybersecurity events & groups
Reno's security calendar centers on the University of Nevada, Reno, which runs a free one-day Cybersecurity Conference each fall and is home to the student Nevada Cyber Club. Off campus, a sponsor-backed IT and cybersecurity social meets about once a month in south Reno, the statewide ISC2 chapter holds a lunch in Carson City a few times a year, and 2600 Magazine lists a first-Friday hacker meeting at Meadowood Mall.

- The ISC2 chapter's Northern Nevada lunches are in Carson City, not Reno. For the September 24, 2026 lunch the chapter site gave 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Eventbrite gave noon to 2:00 p.m.; check the Eventbrite listing before going.
- The Reno Tech and Cybersecurity Social Group is sponsored by technology vendors at every meeting; expect sales staff in the room.
- DC775 and InfraGard Nevada are listed as dormant: DC775 shows no dated activity since 2017, and InfraGard Nevada has held no meeting since January 9, 2025 while it rebuilds its leadership.
