Field notes
- NolaSec is free and community-minded, but a local consulting firm (Huntrix) organizes it and posts the Eventbrite listings. The old NolaSec Meetup group no longer exists.
- The ISC2 Central Gulf Coast Chapter lists sessions without a year next to the date. Its October 22 session is at Rally Cap Brewing in Baton Rouge, about 80 miles away, so it is not listed here.
- The 2600 meeting time is 2600 Magazine's network default; nothing from the local group confirms it.
- A DEF CON group, DCG504 (New Orleans and North Shore), is listed on the DEF CON forums as meeting monthly at Z'otz Cafe, but no dated meeting since its 2022 founding could be found, so it is not listed. The nearest confirmed DEF CON group is DC225 in Baton Rouge.
- LSU New Orleans (the former University of New Orleans) has a student CTF team that organizes on the computer science department's Discord, and Tulane's School of Professional Advancement has a Cyber Competition Team. Neither posts dated public events.
- The New Orleans Cyber Security for Control Systems Meetup group carries only online (CS)2AI seminars, so it is not listed.
